Paceman Gus Atkinson Exacerbates England's Fitness Concerns.
'Significant concern' for the touring side as Atkinson leaves the field due to a hamstring issue.
The English seamer added to England's injury problems when he left the field during Saturday's play of the fourth Ashes Test versus the Australians.
The right-arm seamer pulled up with his left hamstring post-delivery that he bowled at the MCG.
The England team stated the 27-year-old felt some "soreness" and required time on the sidelines in order to be assessed "over the next few hours".
The concluding match of the tour at the SCG begins this coming Sunday.
England have been without strike bowlers Mark Wood due to knee trouble and another paceman to a side strain on this Ashes tour.
A replacement bowler was brought into the squad as cover for Wood.
His form was underwhelming in the opening two Tests, taking just a handful of scalps.
He was omitted of the third Test, before being recalled for the Boxing Day match to fill the void.
The county bowler showed better form in Melbourne, bagging two scalps with the ball, then making 28 while batting as one of just three English batsmen who passed ten runs.
After bowling one over at the end of day one, he resumed the next day and dismissed the nightwatchman edging to the keeper.
Yet, on the final ball of that over, he delivered a slower ball to Travis Head and immediately felt for his hamstring.
Gus Atkinson returned to the side for the Melbourne match having missed the Adelaide game.
