Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities report that a former doctor stands accused of committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
Police are urging individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
