Experience this Remastered Classic Journey: A Complimentary Trial for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Arrives Soon.

Enthusiasts looking forward to the release of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined don't need to wait much longer. An highly anticipated trial experience will go live on January 7th, providing a sizable look into the game's beginning segments. Notably, all advancement earned within this demo is eligible to be transferred directly into the full game upon its subsequent launch.

Beyond Just a Simple Re-release: A Thorough Transformation

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is a comprehensive reinterpretation of the seminal year 2000 RPG, originally known as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Taking a notable step away from other Dragon Quest remakes, like the previously launched HD-2D versions, this remake embraces a striking 3D art style. Locales appear to look like detailed miniature worlds, with protagonists having a whimsical chibi-esque look.

"Even with the 3DS version, the narrative was still exceptionally extended. So we reached a decision that we wanted to tighten the story, [and] craft an adventure for contemporary gamers."

Key Gameplay Changes & Updates

Square Enix have introduced a host of enhancements to update the classic gameplay loop. Among these are:

  • Expedited Field Battles: Taking a cue from modern RPGs, low-level enemies are now dispatched instantly on the overworld map eliminating the need for entering a separate turn-based combat screen.
  • Adjustable Combat Speed: Gamers can speed up battle sequences to rapidly get past simpler encounters.
  • New Job Mechanics: A completely new vocation has been added for this remake. Furthermore, party members now have the capacity to take on a secondary vocation, significantly enhancing strategic options.

Such refinements seek to mitigate one of the 2000 game's common points of feedback: its daunting scope. That original storyline could easily take more than 100 hours to see through. This reimagined edition was expressly designed to refine flow and cut down on any repetition.
